Matthew
Dunn is a triple Olympian, having competed at Barcelona, Atlanta and in
Sydney. He trained at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra under
coach Gennadi Touretski. Matt is the Australian Institute of Sport's longest
scholarship holder of 10 years and as a dedication to his acheivements,
The Matt Dunn Invitational Pentathlon is held.
Matt's career achievements include multiple Pan Pac and
Commonwealth Games gold, and was a member of the world record breaking
4x200m freestyle team in Kuala Lumpur 1998.
Matt currently still holds the shortcourse world record
in the 400 individual medley set in Perth 1998. His final competitive
swim was at the Sydney Olympics in the heats of the 200IM.
Now retired from swimming, he is engaged to Icelandic
swimmer Eydis Konradsdottir. Their wedding is July (2004).
